The board game Makruk Thai, which translates to "Thai Chess", is a variant of the well-known board game, chess.
Makruk Thai is played on an 8×8 board, with 64 squares arranged in an 8×8 grid. Each player begins with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The pieces move according to the rules of chess, but the player has the option of moving his piece in any direction, and is allowed to capture other pieces, while the captured pieces become the player's property.
